1984. Dir: Mick Jackson

Penned by Barry Hines, Threads takes a very realistic look at the unimaginable terror of nuclear war in an everyday, working class ciny; in this case Sheffield.

Over thirty years since the multiple BAFTA-winning Threads aired on the BBC, The Guardian still calls it "one of the most harrowing things ever to air on television… an unremittingly bleak and entirely plausible account of nuclear war and its aftermath".

The screening is in partnership with Futurist Community Cinema Elsecar and Great Place WE.
