Vibrant Multi-Sensory Play WAVE to Make a Splash at The Civic
A rich, colourful, sensory experience, Wave is inspired by Shakespeare’s The Tempest, exploring the relationship between parent and child. Miranda has a dilemma: she loves Dad, but she is an adult now and ready to leave home. How can she tell him without hurting his feelings?
Join us on the island with Miranda and Dad (a weather scientist) to explore the sensory world of the weather, the workshop and the beach, and help Miranda with her dilemma: she loves Dad, but she is an adult now and ready to leave home. How can she tell him without hurting his feelings? Inspired by Shakespeare’s ‘The Tempest’, Wave explores the loving relationship between parent and child.
Wave is performed for small audiences in a purpose-built theatre including live performance, music and singing, audience involvement and video projections. Wave offers a unique experience rich in action, colour, sound, touch and emotion and shared experience between young people and their companions.
"The range of sensory activities was great and the frequency of exploring time was perfect. I think it was also really important and helpful that the students weren’t expected to sit and were allowed to use the space. Really new experience. Very impressed, thank you’" Teacher (Audience Feedback)
