Twelve International Artists To Meet for First Time to Stage MA Fine Art Show After Three Years’ Online Study and Collaboration
Artists from the UK, Cyprus, Sweden, Austria, Italy and the USA To Exhibit at The Civic In Barnsley.
BARNSLEY, The Civic—The exhibition Duodecimal will showcase artworks by the graduating MA Fine Art cohort from The Open College of the Arts, based in Barnsley, U.K.. Duodecimal will include a variety of media, including painting, drawing, photography, printmaking, sculpture, textiles, digital media and installation.
This exhibition is the culmination of the artists’ research and development of their practices over the three-year MA course. Despite working closely together online for the last three years, the artists will meet face-to-face for the first time to install their exhibition. With works ranging from socially engaged projects to performance-based art, the show aims to be both diverse and thought provoking.
Will Woods, Principal of the Open College of the Arts says of the MA in Fine Art:
‘It is the jewel in the crown of OCA study…The work within the MA exhibition demonstrates excellence in the use of material, discernment and execution.’
The group plans to continue collaborating and developing their global network beyond the course under the name Duodecimal. A website is being developed which will highlight the continuing practice of each artist, and the group plans to use the site and their social media presence on Instagram to announce future projects.
Duodecimal is at The Civic Barnsley from Saturday 15 June to Saturday 29 June.
