Shortlist announced for Yorkshire and North East Director of the Year awards
The Institute of Directors (IoD) has unveiled the shortlist of business leaders who will compete for its prestigious Yorkshire and the North East Director of the Year awards, and Barnsley is well-represented.
Helen Ball, Chief Executive of The Civic said "I am honoured to be short-listed and delighted to represent both Barnsley and the creative industries at such a prestigious event". Helen has been shortlisted for the Public & Third Sector Award, and is up against colleagues from both Leeds City Council and Wakefield Council. She joins William Bottomly - Director of financial services at Lifetime FM in Dodworth, who will compete in the Yorkshire Small Company Award.
The winners will be revealed at a gala dinner at Leeds Civic Hall on 30 June 2016, hosted by broadcaster Danni Hewson. They will go forward to the national IoD Director of the Year finals.
The judging panel was chaired by Richard Tuplin, managing director of Jelf Insurance Partnership.
He said: “These awards were devised to recognise the very best of the best and, once again, our shortlist is of the highest calibre. We’re looking forward to an excellent awards evening, where the region’s top businesses will gather to celebrate and recognise outstanding leadership in the boardroom.”
Entertainment at the awards will be provided by talented vocalist Beverley Savarin.
Highlighting 'the very best of the best' the 2016 Awards Dinner provides an excellent opportunity to celebrate and recognise outstanding leadership in the boardroom and the regional category winners will automatically go forward to the UK Finals held in London later in the year.
Awards sponsors are: GE Capital, Leeds Beckett University, Leeds City Council, Topic UK, UKTI and Vista.
