Greek Myths at The Civic with an electrifying live gig and a hilariously unforgettable play.

The Civic has two upcoming shows exploring Greek Myths, an electrifying live gig and a hilarious comedy.

Firstly, from the company that brought you Noresome and Macbeth comes Unmythable,

One show. Three actors. All the Greek myths.

“Flawless…Unmissable” - Broadway Baby

This hilarious and unforgettable journey is fun for all the family to enjoy with legendary heroes, psychotic dragons and randy gods going head-to-head.

An anarchic blend of comedy, cross-dressing, stories and songs, Unmythable returns to the UK after a sell-out European tour and a run at the Edinburgh Fringe where it won Three Weeks Editors’ Award - Edinburgh Fringe 2012

Prepare to be a legend.

“intelligently devious and wildly entertaining” The Wireless, New Zealand

“A masterclass in holding an audience spellbound” Fringe Review

Following that amazing show, on the 28 February comes a genre defying performance from Pecho Mama as they exploded onto the theatre scene with this bold, imaginative and genre defying debut.

“a stunning kaleidoscopic journey into hell itself” Broadway Baby

Medea Electronica is a powerful and deeply moving gig-theatre retelling of the ancient Greek tragedy, set in 1980’s rural England.

Medea is an ancient tragedy, best known for its savage act of filicide as an act of revenge. Staged amidst an electrifying live gig, this is a heart stopping story of a family caught in the brutal throes of a marriage unravelling. It’s a compassionate but fierce story of a mother, with themes of depression, feminism and family.

Theatre lovers and live music fans alike will fall in love with this genre defying new company, who strive to create work that is raw, savage, beautiful and challenging.

“expertly crafted, performed to the highest standards, thematically fearless, smart as hell and cool as f***” London City Nights

Also coming up this February is The Turk by Michael Sabbaton, a chilling tale about an 18th century ‘thinking machine’ and Great Britain by Richard Bean, a hilariously fast and furious play and more.
