Comedy Club 4 Kids at The Civic This April

Prepare for fits of giggles as Comedy Club Designed for Kids comes to Barnsley

Comedy Club 4 Kids returns to The Civic for a swear-free hour with the international circuit’s best stand ups and sketch acts.

"Comedy Club 4 Kids has been a highlight for children in recent years, giving them a taste of some of the biggest names in comedy, with the fun, rowdy feel of a real comedy club. Past line-ups have included Stewart Lee, Jason Byrne, David O'Doherty and Adam Hills, and it's always interesting to see how comics adapt their material for kids, and to see those who can get a laugh without falling back on the toilet jokes. (Some do look quite lost when they realise they can't swear at hecklers.)" The Guardian

Since 2005, the Comedy Club 4 Kids has been getting the best stand-ups and sketch acts from the international circuit to do their thing for an audience of children and their families… but without the rude bits! It's just like a normal comedy club, but it's on in the day, kids are allowed in, and thus there is a higher than usual chance of heckles like "why is that your face!?"

Made especially for younger comedy fans, Comedy Club 4 Kids is a mixed-bill of at least 3 stand-up, sketch and cabaret acts. Regular hosts include CBBC veterans Tiernan Douieb ('The Slammer'), Iain Stirling ('Help! My Supply Teacher's Magic!'), Luke Toulson ('Space Pirates') and Stuart Goldsmith ('Mission:2110').

"It is laugh-your-socks-off comedy fit for the whole family, including parents and grandparents. Nobody will feel left out." The Scotsman

Comedy club for kids have even recently produced a book on how to write and perform stand-up, How To Be An Unstoppably Amazing Comedy Genius. This 50-page booklet is intended for anyone who'd like to become a stand-up comedian, and can be bought from our website for £6:

Comedy Club 4 Kids is part of April Fools Comedy Festival 2018, a town wide festival of comedy happening at various venues this coming month. This is a great way to get the kids involved in all the fun. Non-patronising and pure awesome.

"Go see this show and you'll have sore cheeks from laughing." Fest magazine
