A newly commissioned Christmas show featuring a community cast is opening at The Civic

Fidget Theatre in association with LittleMighty present Jack Frost, a joyful, frost filled, festive adventure for families. Each show features a community cast in this seasonal treat that’s full of music.

This December Fidget Theatre bring you Jack Frost – a new music-filled Christmas show about friendship and the joy of joining in – specially commissioned by The Civic.

The story centres around Holly, a little girl who is an eager trumpet player, and her friendship with the magical winter sprite Jack Frost. One day at the school Christmas concert rehearsal Holly notices some strange goings on – frosty patterns appear, icicles form and a window bursts open with an icy gust of wind. Jack Frost, the invisible sprite, is up to mischief and it seems at first that only Holly can see him.

Every performance features a young community cast, who have been recruited in the local are, lending their voices and instruments to play live alongside the professional team.

Follow Holly’s adventure into the ice-covered fantastical world of the playful though lonely Jack. Together Holly and Jack will make lots of music, have loads of fun and make sure no-one is left outside this Christmas.

Fidget Theatre’s previous productions for families include Molly’s Marvellous Moustache and Stanley Button.

Jack Frost has been specially commissioned by The Civic, Barnsley and supported by Arts Council England.
