MARKETING & COMMUNICATIONS OFFICER - FULL TIME
The Civic is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic well organised Marketing and Communications Officer with a passion for engaging audiences to be responsible for delivering and overseeing the company’s artistic and commercial marketing campaigns both internally and externally. The position plays a key part in communicating the marketing message of The Civics’ business enabling the achievement of organisation income and sales targets.
The position requires to be able to make key decisions regarding product distribution, budgeting, branding, and sales, under the direction of the Head of Visual Arts and Engagement.
The successful candidate will have experience of working in a busy arts environment, using email marketing and website systems and have a good eye for detail and accurate proof reading. You will be able to communicate effectively with a wide range of people and work under your own initiative.
Our combined artistic programme showcases the best in theatre, comedy, music, dance, exhibitions and family shows.

Civic Artistic Residency Programme – CARP 19
for artists based in the North of England.
CARP is a flexible programme aiming to support artists in the process of creating work, developing and experimenting with new ideas in a nurturing and supportive arts environment
The Civic, Barnsley are seeking Northern artists from any performance and visual arts discipline, at any stage of their career. We are looking to support up to 4 artists or companies, will be offering a minimum of 2 weeks of rehearsal / residency space from April 2019 – March 2020 and have a total budget available of up to £1500 to support bursaries for the CARP programme. We are particularly keen to hear from artists from diverse backgrounds and/or those living with a disability.
