Tickertape Parade: Fantabulosa
Step into the unforgettable magic of Fantabulosa! - a fantastical pop-up world of imagination, storytelling and glitter where boundaries are forgotten and everyone and anyone can be whoever they want to be.
Join some of the UK’s leading drag artists for a queer-positive participatory family drag show for public spaces encompassing interactive storytelling, lipsync, performance, dress-up, games and original songs. Fantabulosa! is open to anyone, young and old, who wants to experience the joys and freedom of self-expression. Age Range: 3-8 (but fabulous for adults too)
Pif-Paf - SEED - a surprising and inspiring hitch-hike on the journey from small acorns to great oaks with a Rockabilly Tree-Planting Anarcho-Nomad. Join Wilford planting trees where he shouldn’t - living in his shed and on the run from his past and his arch-enemies, SLUGS, out to get him for his contraband seeds.
Intimate and explosive, this one man static street theatre show is full of captivating images, puppetry and giant inflatables. With live and specially composed music, and Pif-Paf’s trademark Heath Robinson meets Mad Max inventions, SEED journeys into the life of the young and ancient living beings that we walk under every day.
Zest Theatre – First Person
Two players enter the labyrinth of a virtual world and compete for the ultimate prize: happiness. The First Person to complete the game and find happiness is the winner! It’s that easy. All they need to do is follow the voice of the unseen Guide and they’ll be just fine. But in our harsh world of winners and losers, is the Guide aiding their journey, or relishing in their demise?
MarkMark - Edmund and Hillary and scratch sharing of new static show:
Personnel: Major ‘Eddy’ Edward Edmund (expedition leader) and Lance Corporal Henry 'stinker' Hilary (4th in command) are available to plot plan and prod your uncharted territory. These two 'Victorian Gentlemen Explorers' will explore the Civic Garden party and beyond, trying to work out why they are so darn lost.
Camouflage: Dressed in tropical kit and pith helmets they are there to amuse and bemuse your indigenous population. Covered in cobwebs, memories and pride they pioneer and perform to the populace whilst puffing on a pipe.
Upper lips have never been stiffer!
The Great Fiasco 2 - Sequel /prequel to Maureen and Ronaldi’s The Great Fiasco. A 1970’ Street Theatre Spectacle. A blend of cabaret, circus, and clowning that’s is an uproarious celebration of early 70’s entertainment.
Love on the Rocks – Barnsley will take up residency at our Garden Party with a rock painting workshop for ages 2 – 200. The workshop is free but they will be accepting donations, which they are kindly donating to The Civic’s Connect campaign. Rocks will be varnished on site, making them weather proof and ready to be hidden for others to find and share online with the rock painting community.
Then later the same evening...
