Bootleg Blondie to play in Barnsley.
The Tide is High for a Blondie Tribute act in Barnsley!
The Civic are excited to host Bootleg Blondie, the official Debbie Harry & Blondie tribute band. Bootleg Blondie are the only Blondie tribute to play the legendary CBGB’s in New York City before it's demise in 2006 and to have the honour to be mentioned on Blondie’s 11th album ‘Pollinator’.
Debbie Harris and Bootleg Blondie have played the Isle Of Wight Festival, the 100 Club, the Hammersmith Palais, The Electric Ballroom in London, Eric’s in Liverpool, and have opened up for amongst others The Undertones, Slade, The Beat, Bad Manners, Heaven 17, Toyah, Hazel O’Connor, Tony Hadley, David Essex and Nick Kershaw and can be seen at all the major venues and festivals around the UK and Europe. Now they come to Barnsley!
Lead vocalist Debbie Harris has even appeared on two shows for BBC1 when she was picked out of 15,000 applicants to represent Debbie Harry on ‘Even Better Than The Real Thing’ hosted by Paddy McGuinness. The show drew in nearly 4 million viewers on the pilot episode alone.
Debbie Harris, has the looks, the voice and the attitude of the original Blondie bombshell and like her heroine is typically outrageous on stage. She has been known to wear dustbin liners, thigh length boots and t-shirts with more holes than t-shirt. Debbie's pride & joy is her guitar which she plays at every show and is signed by all the Blondie band members.
‘Good luck with your show!’ Debbie Harry
One of the greatest moments for Debbie Harris was in 2016 when Clem Burke (Drummer in Blondie) came to a Bootleg Blondie gig and got up on stage to play drums with the band. He said afterwards that watching and playing with Bootleg Blondie was very emotional. Of course, Bootleg Blondie were very touched by Clem’s presence too.
So “One Way or Another” make sure you get yourself to The Civic, on 3 February to rock out to this amazing band.
